Sacred Heart College seeks students who are desirous of earning a high quality, well-rounded Christian education that will provide them with a sound foundation for responsible citizenship, and prepare them for tertiary education. Prospective applicants must be highly motivated and dedicated students who are willing to work towards achieving SHC’s academic standards and who will abide by its rules governing student conduct.
Interested students must fill and meet the requirements in the application form and must have demonstrated good conduct in primary school.
Student transfers will be considered depending on the academic performance, disciplinary record and availability of space. SHC will not accept any transfer student who was suspended or expelled from their former school for substance abuse, on or off-campus fighting, stealing or disrespect to school authorities. SHC will also not accept transfer students who have been placed on the First Offenders program. Finally, SHC will not re-admit students who were previously expelled from SHC for any of the above reasons.
Policy regarding Transfer Students and Late Transfers
Students desiring to transfer from another school must take a Test in English and Math.
Students desiring to transfer into fourth form must also take a Test in the subject areas they wish to take, which is business or science.
Transfer students are placed on academic and disciplinary probation, unless they have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have an excellent disciplinary recommendation from their former school.
Students must be prepared to complete department requirements and CXC requirements if they are planning on taking any CXC examinations. If they are transferring into Fourth Form, they must submit all their SBAs and Science Lab books.

Each scholarship is valued at half the cost of a child’s registration fee. This scholarship is awarded to 6 students. For an incoming student to qualify, he or she must have scored above 85 on the PSE. For a student going into second, third or fourth form, they must have a GPA of 3.75 or above to apply. An academic committee comprised of teachers will then review the applications, to decide on the candidates who will receive the scholarship. A student must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or above to keep the scholarship. Application forms can be picked up at the office of Student Services. Deadline for submission is May 28, and forms should be dropped off at the Student Affairs Vice Principal.
Each scholarship is valued at half the cost of a child’s registration fee, and it is awarded to 3 male and 3 female athletes. To qualify for this scholarship, an incoming first form student must have scored above 60 on the PSE, while a second, third and fourth form student must have a GPA of 2.5 of above. The student must be able to play two of the 5 sporting disciplines. These include basketball, volleyball, football, softball or track and field. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis. The sports director, along with teachers in the sports committee will form the selection committee for these scholarships. Application forms can be picked up at the office of Student Services. Recipients of this scholarship will be required to assist the school with community service. A total of 14 work scholarships will be distributed for the school year. Students must submit an application form, which will then be reviewed by a committee. Each scholarship is valued at half the cost of a child’s registration fee.
